February marks a new year of sorts in the world of high school students - it's the beginning of a new semester!  TLC high school students have written school and diploma exams, and are well on their way to considering what the next 5 months of their educational path may look like.  Returning TLC students are encouraged to book a time to meet with their current teacher to discuss programming for the second semester. New TLC students are welcome to register for a semester 2 course until mid-May. Summer School 2018 registration opens in June.

Teachers' Convention is February 8 & 9. All GYPSD schools will be closed for these two days while teachers head to Edmonton for their annual North Central Alberta Teachers' Association Convention, 2018.  Monday, February 19 is Family Day! Plan to take in community events sponsored by your local Town or Yellowhead County recreation departments, or enjoy time as a family doing something fun together!  Please watch our TLC Facebook page for upcoming Try It Tuesday events that are sure to not only educate and inform, but to also stir up creative juices! The intent of the TLC Try It Tuesday program is to introduce youth to activities, creative pursuits, and local experts to help encourage the development of a new skill, hobby or even an interest in a future career path.

February is also a time for surveys. Student surveys are conducted at school during the school day. Parent surveys have been mailed by Canada Post. Everyone's voice counts!  We encourage everyone to take the time to complete the Alberta Education Surveys and GYPSD surveys. We appreciate the time and effort it takes to complete our surveys and truly value input from our students and families.
